JOHN ASUNCION VALLADAREZ


BORN: November 14, 1946 in Knox City (Knox) Texas. Died in Dallas Texas on October 18, 2008

RESIDENCE: Interred at LaurelLand Cemetery in Dallas, Texas

EARLY CHILDHOOD: John (Johnny/Chonito) was born in Knox City,Texas, the second of four children born to Encarnacion G. Valladares and Margaret Ramirez.

EDUCATION: John attended the Knox City School until around age 11 (grade 5 or 6) and transferred to the Dallas ISD and he graduated from Grozier Tech HS in May 1964.

MILITARY: Johnny did not serve in the military.

CAREER: Johnny worked in the printing industry his whole life. He was in business for himself. He quit the business and sold his equipment after computer technoloy overtook him, and he was not trained in computer printing.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: Johnny loved to travel, and would often arrange his vacations around historical points of interest, places like Terlingua, Grand Canyon, Tombstone, Mesa Verde, and White Sands. He was an amateur geologist and archeologist, collecting fossils, dinosaur bones, and gemstones, always remembering where he found each piece.
Johnny also liked to collect old movie memorabilia, especially those involving classic move monsters. He also loved animals and had many a pet over his lifetime.

MARRIAGE: Johnny met Natividad (Tivy) Ugalde while he was in High School in Dallas. He was 18 and she was 16 when they married on November 1, 1964. They remained married for 44 years until his untimely death after a lenghty illness.
