BORN: He was born October 10, 1945 in Crowell, Texas. Jesse passed away to meet his maker at home in Decatur, Texas on August 20, 2022. His body was cremated.

EARLY CHILDHOOD: Jesus (Jesse/Chuy) was born at The Foard County Hospital in Crowell (Foard) Texas. He is the fifth of nine children born to Jose Rios Brown and Josefina Valladares. He was afflicted with infantile polio at the age of six months, was in an incubator for six month, and was given a shot every hour. He did not fully recover for two years. His entire childhood was spent in Crowell at the E. Austin St location. During the summer of 1954, the family took a trip to work in Wisconsin picking cherries, coming down towards Illinois to work in the tomatoes fields picking tomatoes. During the next 6 years, from 1955-1961, she accompanied the family to the Greeley, Colorado area where the older members of the family worked in the beet fields.
EDUCATION: He attended elementary school in the Crowell Independent School District (CISD) from the first through eight grades graduating in May 1961. He and Gloria started school the same day, and the first thing they did that first day was to walk home at noon. (about two-three miles). The principal caught up with them before they got home and took them back. He attended Crowell High School and was the first in the family to graduate, in May 1966. While in high school he was a member of the Crowell Wildcat football team and track teams for three years playing middle linebacker position, No. 55. Afterwards he attended Draughn's Business College (DBC) in Wichita Falls. He graduated in 1966.
MILITARY: Jesse did not serve in the military, he was classified 4F due to a loss in hearing.
CAREER: When Jesse was old enough, he worked with the family in Colorado for the last couple of years. This occurred from about May to September/October of each year. While in high school, he worked odd jobs, hoeing cotton in the summer and picking cotton in the fall and winters, and plowing wheat field for some of the local farmers. During the summer after graduating from high school, he, George, and Baldemar worked as members of a wheat harvest crew, going as far as Colorado before quitting due to differences with the employer Mr. Kincheloe.After graduating from DBC, he went to work in Ft Worth at General Dynamics for three and one-half years. After that he and Rual worked for Concho Construction helping in the building of highway and overpass bridges in different parts of the state of Texas for about eight or nine years. He wound up in Bowie, Texas about 1976 and decided to stay so the children would not have to be changing schools every time he moved. He worked for Darrel Shaw, a Bowie building contractor for a few years. Later the City of Bowie hired him in the Water and Sewer Department. He worked there for a few years, got a break in service and worked building trailers. He then went back to work for the city until he had to retire due to health problems. He had elective surgery on February 2000 to remove his gall bladder, and complications set in. He almost died and was in the hospital in Bowie for a month, was transferred to the Regional Hospital in Denton, and finally to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for a couple of months. He was released late in 2000, but never fully recovered. He was not able to return to work, so he had to retire. He also started receiving Social Security disability retirement benefits in May 2002. His last job was part-time, helping out at Eye Photography in Bowie, keeping the building clean and grounds maintained.
OTHER ACTIVITIES: He was a deacon at the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Bowie for 24 years, a Christ Ambassadors (CA) leader for five years, and Sunday School teacher for four years. He also played softball in the church's team for five years. He went on three missionary trips to Old Mexico to help in the building of some Bible Schools and churches.
MARRIAGE: Jesse met Rosa Lopez when she was in the eighth grade and he was a freshman in high school. They started dating when she was a sophomore and got engaged when she was a senior. They were engaged until they married at the Catholic Church in Crowell, Texas on June 22, 1968. A Priest of the St Joseph Catholic Church in Crowell performed the ceremony.
CHILDREN: Jesse and Rosa have two children.
